GUTJAHR, JEAN

Jean Gutjahr died suddenly, yet peacefully, at home on February 5, 2026 in her 85th year. She was the cherished wife of Dean Gutjahr of North Bay.

They had been married for 64 years. Loving mother of Troy of Carrollton, Texas and Glenn (Debora) of Beamsville, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Edna Fisher and her sister Margot O'Brien (Richard). Jean was known as a kind and loving person. She was born and raised in North Bay and married Dean there. She lived in Downsview, Ottawa, Brighton and Trenton due to Dean's RCAF career, eventually returning to North Bay before his retirement. Then she worked for many years at Zeller's in West Ferris.

She was a devoted mother to her sons, who will always remember her with love and gratitude. She enjoyed music and dancing with Dean to her favorite bands on the weekends. She eagerly spent time with Dean, their family and friends at the trailer on Lake Nipissing.

Jean's family and friends will gather in celebration of her life at later date, yet to be determined and announced. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home.
