A chance to help shape future of community well-being

By Richard Coffin

If you have ideas on shaping the future of community well-being, the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario wants to hear from you.

They’re looking for community-minded leaders from North Bay, Sudbury and Timmins to join their Board of Directors.

Officials say board members help guide the YMCA’s long-term direction, ensure financial sustainability, and uphold the organization’s charitable purpose and values.

It’s a volunteer role with individuals with expertise in several areas being sought. They include:
· Board Governance
· Business Management
· Communications Strategy & Public Narrative
· Cybersecurity & Technology Strategy
· Financial Expertise
· Government Relations
· Health Care
· Human Resources
· Indigenous Relations
· Legal
· Public Policy Development
· Real Estate & Asset Management

“Serving on the YMCA Board is an opportunity to help shape the future of a charity that uplifts thousands across Northeastern Ontario,” says Antoine Vezina, Board Chair. “We’re seeking new members who bring fresh perspectives and a passion for strengthening our communities.”

Applications are open until April 10, 2026.
