Ab DeMarco Jr.

We wish to honour and celebrate the life of Ab DeMarco Jr. who passed away suddenly on June 21st, 2026 at the age of 77. His last day was perfect: at home sharing laughter, stories, good food and time with his family.

A devoted father, Nonno, husband, brother, and friend, Ab touched countless lives through his kindness, sense of humour, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

As a former NHL Hockey player, Ab leaves behind a lasting legacy both on and off the ice. He inspired generations of athletes and was respected by teammates, competitors, and friends alike.

Above all else, Ab cherished his family. His greatest joy came from raising his three daughters and spending time with his 5 grandchildren.

Son of Albert DeMarco Sr. and Norma DeMarco, he will be deeply missed by his three daughters Marina (Soek), Lucia (Alex), and Micaela; his sisters Dianne (dec.), Victoria and Donna; his brothers David and Jamie; his grandchildren Paia, Naaya, Saloke, Noah, and Terasina, as well as numerous extended family members, friends, former teammates, and members of the community.

Visitations will take place on Wednesday, June 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral on Thursday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the St Peter the Apostle church hall.
