Airport hopeful Propair service suspension only a pause
Propair is suspending its service in North Bay.
Bryan Avery, Jack Garland Airport Manager, says they’ve been advised of the decision.
“While we’re naturally disappointed, we remain hopeful that this is a pause rather than a permanent departure from the market,” he says. “We’re working collectively in that goal.”
Avery says launching a new air service takes time, and ultimately its success depends on regular use.
He adds the passenger volumes needed to establish the route as an immediate success were not realized, and the airline has faced what has been a challenging operating environment this summer – as have all airlines.
Avery says since being informed of the decision, they have met with Propair to discuss the market, review potential opportunities, and explore what conditions might support a return to service in the future, whether later this year or next.

“Propair has advised us of their decision to suspend service at this time. While we’re naturally disappointed, we remain hopeful that this is a pause rather than a permanent departure from the market. We’re working collectively in that goal.
Launching a new air service takes time, and ultimately its success depends on travelers choosing to use it regularly, starting with its first flight. The passenger volumes needed to establish the route as an immediate success were not realized, and the airline has faced what has been a challenging operating environment this summer – as have all airlines.
Since being informed of the decision, we have met with Propair to discuss the market, review potential opportunities, and explore what conditions might support a return to service in the future, whether later this year or in 2027.
Airlines are dynamic businesses that continuously evaluate demand and adjust their operations accordingly.
