Schools remain open.

This as a yellow snow squall watch is in effect for the North Bay area.

Environment Canada says total local snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm are possible, with reduced visibility in heavy and local blowing snow.

The snow is expected to start Friday morning and continue through Saturday afternoon.

Wind gusts of 40-60 km/h are also expected.

The weather agency says there is uncertainty with the exact locations where snow squalls will develop and snowfall amounts may vary across the region.
