Bernie Leroux
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Bernard “Bernie” Leroux on the eve of May 5, 2025, at the age of 68. Bernie passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved and adored him.
Bernie was an immensely proud and devoted father to his four children, David, Emille, Celeste, and Lucien, and a cherished big brother to Stephen and Vince. He is now reunited with his late parents Mary Strobl and Jacques Leroux. Bernie will lovingly be remembered by his beloved girlfriend Liz, his former wife Johanne (mother of Emille, Celeste, and Lucien), his first wife Dionne (mother of David), as well as his many family members, friends, collaborators, colleagues, and students whose lives are forever changed by his presence.
Bernie lived life with open arms and a full heart. He was a loving father, a passionate outdoorsman, a devout believer in making the most of every day, and a tireless advocate for truth, beauty, and justice. His legacy lives on in his children, his creative works, and the people he inspired.
The Leroux family will be holding a Celebration of Life to honour Bernie on July 19th, 2025 at The North Bay 406 Wing, 406 1st Avenue West from 11:30 - 4:00. Light lunch will be served.
