Centennial Concert and Drone Show Set for Friday

The City of North Bay’s second Centennial Concert and Drone Show of the year will take place this Friday, July 18, at the Kiwanis Bandshell, capping off nearly a full week of free evening performances.
The event kicks off at 6:45 p.m. with live music from Matt Burkhart, NorthFacing Folk, and Trinamite, followed by the Drone Show at 10 p.m. Two additional drone shows are planned for Aug. 3 and Aug. 29.
This week’s performances began on Tuesday with Arts & Culture Nights at the Kiwanis All-Wheel Park, featuring Indigenous hip hop artist VII Major. The Summer Concert Series continues tonight with Roadhouse, followed by a rescheduled performance by Gravitas on Thursday, July 17, both from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Kiwanis Bandshell.
Public Safety
To ensure public safety during Friday’s Drone Show, temporary closures and access restrictions will be in place along the waterfront:
- Shabogesic Beach boardwalk, volleyball courts, and playground will be closed from 3:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. for setup and takedown.
- A public access point to the beach between the ACT Shelter and the playground will remain open until 9 p.m.
- Event staff will be on-site to guide the public and monitor restricted areas, which will be clearly marked with caution tape.
- During the show, the public sidewalk on the beach side of Memorial Drive will be closed from Boathouse Rentals to the end of the volleyball courts.
- Memorial Drive will remain open to traffic, but drivers are asked to slow down and watch for increased foot traffic. Pedestrians should use designated crossings and sidewalks after the event.
The City of North Bay thanks all attendees for their cooperation and looks forward to welcoming the community to this event.
