City Winds Down Sandbag Stations

The City is winding down sandbag filling stations due to decreased demand and stabilizing conditions on Lake Nipissing.

Existing stock of pre-filled sandbags will remain available at Champlain Park and Sunset Park; however, these sites will no longer be restocked or staffed. Sandbags that are no longer required can be returned to Public Works on Franklin Street.

The City will continue to monitor lake and water conditions and is prepared to remobilize sandbagging operations if conditions change. While lake levels have stabilized, they remain high, and residents are reminded to exercise caution around boat launches and all waterways.
