Claude Gravelle

Claude Gravelle

Claude Eddie Gravelle, a man of quiet strength and enduring passion, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on July 31, at the age of 63. His life was defined by his devotion to family, his love of hockey, and his artistic spirit.

Born in North Bay on September 6, 1961, to Ron and Priscille Gravelle, Claude built a life rich in meaningful connections. After earning an Advanced Diploma in Business from Canadore College, he embarked on a distinguished career at The Beer Store, where he was known for his dedication and the genuine relationships with people he met.

A natural athlete, Claude was a talented goaltender who continued to play the game he loved until just before his passing. Off the ice, he was a gifted artist who found joy in creation. Yet, his greatest masterpieces were his three sons, Chris (Sarah), Darren (Danika), and Nathan (Jacob). His love for them was boundless, and he took immense pride in their life and accomplishments. His time with his granddaughters, Lyla and Olivia, was a source of pure happiness.

He will be profoundly missed by his sons, his brothers Denis (Karima) and Gilles (Laurie), and his two granddaughters, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Hillside Funeral Services in North Bay on Friday August 22nd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A memorial service will also be held at Hillside Funeral Services on Saturday, August 23rd at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Claude’s name to KidSport North Bay, a tribute to his lifelong love of sport. Your contribution will help carry on his legacy and support a cause that was dear to his heart.
