Cote, Robert Edward
1937-2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Edward Cote on June 21, 2025, in the comfort of his home during his sleep, at the age of 87.
Bob was the loving husband of 60 years to Marga (Hoellger). Proud father to Marcel (Besa) and Angela. Grandfather to Brendan (Robyn), Gabrielle, Maya and Dea.
Bob is survived by his sister Jaqueline (Alfred) and predeceased by his brother John.
Bob spent the majority of his career as a Certified Technologist, working on radars and on computers. He was a member of the American Navy for four years and then after moving to Canada became a reservist with the Canadian Navy for another four years. He spent many years working at CFB North Bay for NORAD. His passions included listening to opera and many other types of music, playing his piano, his trumpet and playing chess. Bob loved to travel, after his retirement he spent many winters in Myrtle Beach with Marga.
We would like to thank Dr. Jinnah and the primary health care team from Paramed and Ontario Health at Home for their care and compassionate service given to Bob.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Committal Service will be announced at a later date and will be held at the Beachwood Military Cemetery in Ottawa. Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the North Bay Humane Society.
