Dale Daigle

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Marilyn Daigle (née Levy) at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on November 8, 2025. By her side, was the love of her life Terrance Gordon Daigle, Amanda (daughter), Clayton (son-in-law) and Doris (mother-in-law).

Daughter of the late Lorne Levy and Ethel Freda Levy (née Donald). Dale was born in Montreal Québec on November 27, 1942.

Dale and her parents moved to Toronto in the 40’s where she was raised in Scarborough. Lorne retired from the Scarborough School Board, where he worked as a custodian. Ethel retired after many years working for T. Eaton Company Limited (Eaton’s) at their head office as a customer service clerk.

It was fate, as Dale and Terry were meant to be. They first met outside Terry’s apartment in Toronto when Dale was in a car accident and Terry and his friend went down to help. Although she does not recall the accident well, Terry did. Years later, they met again at a party, where Terry recognized Dale and the rest lead to their love story.

Dale married Terry on April 21st, 1973 at the Scarborough Junction United Church (now married for over 52 years). Just over a year later, along with their dog Nicki, Dale and Terry moved to North Bay in 1975 for Terry’s work. This was as far North as this Toronto girl wanted to go. They purchased their first house, which they still live to this day.

On Thanksgiving weekend, Dale gave birth to their only child, Amanda (Daigle-Randall) on October 11th, 1976. Dale always said that pumpkin pie gives babies. She has not eaten pumpkin pie since. But Amanda loves it.

Dale worked for many years as a PSW and Home Care worker under the Red Cross (Home Care). There she met her two best friends Pat and Anita. She then worked for the family business and retired from that after Amanda graduated from Business Administration and took over as the office manager.

Dale enjoyed motorcycle rides (sitting behind Terry), camping, and winter trips to Florida and South Carolina. They both still remain friends with their US camping buddies.

Dale’s love of family and their pets was a important part of her life. They shared five dogs over the years. Her current dog Elliot is a 6 year older Australian Cattle Dog she fell in love with at the Humane Society. Dale and Terry fostered Elliot then adopted him when he was 4 ½ years old. He originally came from Kentucky.

Dale will be dearly missed by her family, neighbours, and the dear friends she has made over the years.

The family wants to thank Dr. Mah and his staff who have been there for Dale through her illness. Also, the doctors, surgeons and staff in Sudbury (Northeast Cancer Centre). Last but not least, what can we say about Nipissing Serenity Hospice. The staff and volunteers gave Dale the care she needed through their compassion, empathy and provided Dale the dignity she deserved.

As per Dale’s wishes a celebration of life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dale’s name to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice or the North Bay Humane Society.
