December job postings down in Nipissing
The Labour Market Group (LMG) reports 341 job postings were recorded in December for Nipissing District.
That’s down nearly 24% month-over-month while year-over-year, the drop is over 12% compared the December 2024.
172 unique employers posted jobs in December, which is down 14% from November, though LMG says this level of participation remains relatively stable for the winter season.
By far, the top employer posting jobs was the North Bay Regional Health Centre with 42 in December.
The next four employers, including Voyageur Aviation Corp, West Nipissing General Hospital, Ontario Northland and the Near North District School Board posted between 8-11 jobs in December.
The top hiring industry, with nearly a third of the postings, was Health Care & Social Assistance.
Retail Trade (12%) and Educational Services (10%) round out the top three.
