Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, announced the money to help cover emergency response costs and critical infrastructure repairs after flooding in June.

“We heard the call from the Township of Calvin that financial assistance was needed to support the repair of damage caused by the devastating storm this past summer. A state of emergency was declared, leaving roads washed out with a significant number of trees and powerlines down,” says Fedeli. “We would also like to thank the Calvin Volunteer Firefighting team who saved many lives the night of the storm.”

Officials say the funding comes from the Municipal Disaster Recovery Assistance program.
