Elsie Goheen
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Elsie Edith Goheen (Née Quehe) on December 29th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home. Elsie passed away at the age of 75.
Elsie was born in Sand Lake, Rensselaer county, New York on May 4, 1950, moved to Newfoundland as a young girl and eventually made her home in North Bay, Ontario. It was there she became lovingly known as the “Grilled Cheese Grandma,” a title earned through the countless friends, children, and grandchildren who gathered in her warm and welcoming home. Elsie touched the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Ada Quehe, and her brother George Jr. She is survived by her devoted husband, Clifford Goheen; her brothers John (Karen), Roy (Joan), and David (Sandy); and her sisters Sheila and Eva (Tim). She leaves behind her three children, Kim (Paul), Lynne (Mark), and Cory (Lori); her cherished grandchildren, Chase (Alexis), Ashley, Meaghan (Adrian), Jonny, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Elizabeth (Bryan), and Max; and her eight beloved great-grandchildren, Maddie, Aiden, Lily, Ruby, Adalynne, Bennett, Ayla, and Ingrid. Elsie is also remembered and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Her spirit, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
A visitation will be held at the North Bay Elk's Lodge No 25, 325 Elks Ln, North Bay, ON on Saturday January 3, 2025 from 1 until 5 pm.
