Ermes Dominic Rupoli

November 18, 1951 – May 9, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ermes Dominic Rupoli, who peacefully left us on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Nipissing Serenity Hospice in North Bay, Ontario, after a brave and valiant struggle with cancer.

Born in Fano, Italy, on November 18, 1951, Ermes immigrated to Canada at 20 months old with his parents, Edigio Rupoli and Giulia (Carloncini), both predeceased. He grew up in Copper Cliff, Ontario, and carried with him the deep-rooted values of his Italian heritage throughout his life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Maria and Elisa (Ian), and his cherished grandchildren: Anthony Perreira, Vincent Perreira, Abby Belyea, and Cameron Belyea. He is survived by his brother, Bruno (Cathy), and his nephews, Michael and Matthew, and niece, Megan, along with many dear friends. Although we feel deep sadness, we are comforted knowing that he has been reunited with his beloved son, David, who predeceased him.

Ermes was a man of strong faith and a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent countless hours studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He also followed hockey and baseball with the same fervour, and was, of course, an avid Maple Leafs fan—he rarely missed a game. His enthusiasm for the team was so strong that his Leafs' hat was always a part of his wardrobe.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Assertive Community Treatment Team and the hospice staff, whose excellent care and compassion provided comfort to Ermes and his family during his final days.

A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 988 Airport Road, North Bay, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Ermes’s memory.

 Maple Leafs Forever.
