February job postings were down in Nipissing

The Nipissing District saw 467 jobs posted in February, a nearly 14% decrease compared to January.

Year-over-year, postings were down 4.5%.

The Labour Market Group says despite the dip from the start-of-the-year surge, the volume of job postings in the month remained stable over the past four years.

202 employers posted jobs, with the North Bay Regional Health Centre taking the top spot.

Voyageur Aviation, Ontario Northland, West Nipissing General Hospital and Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord round out the top five.

The top hiring industry was Healthcare & Social Assistance with nearly a third of the job postings.

Retail Trade was second at nearly 14%.
