Filiatrault, Jean Marc

After a brief illness, Jean-Marc Filiatrault passed away on July 19, 2025, leaving behind his beloved wife and best friend of 43 years, Denise. He is now reunited with his parents, family, and friends who left this world before him.
Jean-Marc is survived and will be dearly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law of whom he was always very proud: Patrick (Allison) of Callander, Christian (Ashley) of Sault Ste. Marie, Raymond (Brenda) of Hawkestone, and André (Nicole) of North Bay.
Jean-Marc’s greatest love was being “Pépère” to Helaina; Ava and Carter; Sophie, Nora and Thomas; and, Caleb and Casey. His greatest joy was to be with them!
Jean-Marc is survived by his siblings Michelle Shank (Marcel), Guy (Patricia), Roger (Lise), Danielle Filiatrault (Paul Blais), Alain (Sandy); brothers and sisters-in-law Kathy Barsanti (Nello) and Terry Hebert (Debbie). Jean-Marc was the favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jean-Marc was predeceased by his parents Jacques and Jeannine, and his in-laws Raymond and Marguerite Hebert, Carol Richardson, Frank Hebert, and Mary-Lou Houston (Lance).
Jean-Marc had a fulfilling life as a devoted husband, father and Pépère. He worked for many years assisting and enriching the lives of people through his work at P.H.A.R.A, the Huntington Society of Canada, Shoppers Home Health Care, Motion Specialties, and as a substitute teacher for the French Catholic School Board.
Jean-Marc had the gift of bringing laughter and fun. He was a hugger! If you ever had the privilege of getting a hug from him, you knew that he cared about you.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all those who have offered kind words and condolences during this time. A special thank you to the NBRHC staff for their exceptional care and compassion, including Dr. S. Gauthier, Dr. O'Grady, Chen, Jana, Katie, Graham, Erin, Lexy, Katelynn, Sandra, Eric, Carrie, and Jean-Marc and Denise's long time friend, Ben Stewart.
As per Jean-Marc’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday August 10th from 1 until 3pm at the Davedi Club. Please bring with you your best memories of Jean-Marc and we would like for you to dress in cheerful attire.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
