Golf season approaching

The excitement is building for area golfers.

Pinewood Park Golf Course opened today (Wed. April 30) and is booking tee times.

Osprey Links in Callander is looking at Friday as their opening, depending on the weather.

“Front nine and back nine is our goal,” says Jeff Rogerson, managing partner and golf professional. “Walking on the course. No carts. It’s a little damp yet but we should be putting on 18 greens.”

He adds they’re now taking tee times.

Highview in Powassan posted on social media last week their tentative opening is this Friday.

Laurentide Golf Club in Sturgeon Falls says it’s waiting for the weather to dry things up while Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort is looking at hopefully opening early next week.

There’s no word yet on when Clear Springs in Chisholm Township or the North Bay Golf and Country Club are planning to open.
