Health Unit issues boil water advisory in Thorne

A boil water advisory has been issued for users of the Thorne drinking water system.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says it’s due to a loss of disinfection on July 30.

Officials says residents and businesses receiving water from the Thorne water system must bring water to a rolling boil for a full minute before preparing food and drinks, brushing teeth, making infant formula, and other activities that could lead to consumption of the water.

They say as an alternative, users can purchase bottled water.

The health unit adds the advisory remains in effect until further notice.
