Heat warning in effect for the North Bay area
In six months it’ll be the snow and cold, but for now we’re dealing with the heat and humidity.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the North Bay area, with a heat event beginning today (Monday, July 13).
The weather agency says we can expect highs of 30 to 37 degrees with lows of 20 to 24 degrees.

Humidex values of 38 to 45 are also expected.
We won’t get any relief until either Wednesday evening or Thursday evening, with the peak of the heat event on Tuesday.
Environment Canada says take action to protect yourself and others, adding extreme heat can affect everyone’s health.
That includes checking on older adults, those living alone and other at-risk people, and watching for the early signs of heat exhaustion.
Officials say drink water often and before you feel thirsty, close blinds or shades, use air conditioning and fans, or visit cooler public places.
