Increase to Support Mental Health Services in Nipissing
The Ontario government is investing over $100,000 in additional permanent base funding to support 52 beds for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), North Bay and District. This funding through the Community Homes for Opportunity Program will help two of the CMHA’s community homes in Nipissing.
“Our government is taking action to deliver quality mental health and addiction care by continuing to support the Canadian Mental Health Association, North Bay and District,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “This funding will help strengthen our local mental health and addictions services sector, and support community-led and delivered mental health and addictions programs in Nipissing.”

“We are grateful for this increase in base funding. This ongoing investment strengthens our ability to provide consistent, high-quality support by maintaining a safe and welcoming environment so residents have the stability they need to focus on their recovery. It also helps us sustain a skilled, responsive workforce that can meet complex needs with compassion, professionalism, and continuity of care.” – Mary Davis, Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Mental Health Association, North Bay and District.
The CMHA, North Bay and District breakdown of funding includes the following:
· $1,418,300 in 2026-25 base funding.
· $106,200 additional base funding increase.
In 2020, the Ontario government released the Roadmap to Wellness supported by an investment of $3.8 billion over 10 years, with a vision of creating a mental health and addictions system where everyone has high-quality and easily accessible mental health and addictions support available to them throughout their lifetime.
