Wendy Gamble

It is with great sadness, and even greater love that we announce the passing of Wendy Joann Gamble (March 3rd, 1962 – August 2nd, 2025). Wendy was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister in law, daughter in law, and tremendous friend of so many.
Wendy’s husband, Brian, was the love of her life and she of his. Wendy and Brian’s son, Brad (Tanika) was the light of her life, so proud she was of him and the man he has become. Wendy adored Tanika and considered her a treasured daughter.
Wendy will be deeply missed by her husband, Brian, Brad, Tanika, her mom Phyllis, sisters Judy (Larry), and Natalie as well as her father in law Derek, and sisters in law Colleen (Mike), Vicki (Ken), Kelly, and brothers in law Steve (Gail), Jim (Karen) and their families.
Wendy had a most rewarding career in retail pharmacy management, which continued till her passing. Wendy loved her work at Algonquin Pharmasave during which time she impacted countless lives with her genuine caring and compassion. She was the gentlest of people always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. Unsurprisingly, Wendy had a multitude of friends who cherished her. In fact, when pressed with a decision to make, her friends would ask “What would Wendy do?” They knew that whatever Wendy decided would be out of love and kindness. We jokingly called Wendy “the mayor” when we shopped with her—If you accompanied her on a grocery run, you could not help but meet countless grateful current and past clients.
Wendy’s absolute favourite day of the year was when her great nieces and nephew came for the annual pool party at her home—she so looked forward to this event, poolside and in the pool! Everyone went home with huge smiles and full bellies. Wendy and Brian’s home was an oasis.
Wendy was the ‘real deal’—loving, compassionate, kind and encouraging. She thought the best of people and constantly strived to BE the best of people.
Wendy saw the wondrous possibility and worth of everyone, always striving to make a positive difference in people’s lives. And she did. And her memory will live on in every act of kindness.
As per her wishes there will be no visitation or service. Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
