Joan Beverly Richards
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear sister, due to complications from pneumonia, at the Salvation Army Eventide Home, Niagara Falls on December 23, 2025.
She will be sorely missed by her sister Patricia Piché (Donald) and her niece and nephew, Paula Piché and Matthew Piché, her brother Michael Richards (Louise), her niece Stephanie Lemay (Martin), her great niece Brielle and great nephew John, and her niece Jaime Palleta(Victor). Joan was predeceased by her parents John and Adele Richards.
Joan was born in Windsor, Ontario on March 18, 1947 at St Joseph’s Hospital. She lived in North Bay from 1968-2017. She was active in the community attending St. Andrew’s Church, working at the AMR centre, participating in the Special Olympics, placing a win in swimming, and participating in a choir in the Kiwanis Festival for 2 consecutive 1st place standings. Joan loved many things but Christmas and the Blue Jays especially. She was a very adaptable personality, good natured, and loving family member.
We are so grateful to Vera Harris who attended to Joan’s needs as she navigated her Golden Age. Many thanks to the North Bay PSWs, especially Angela Milligan, Community Living, for their support. Many thanks to the staff, nurses, and Major Donna Simms, Chaplain, at Eventide Home, who showed such compassion for Joan as she slipped from this world.
As per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.
