Job postings down again in Nipissing

The Labour Market Group says the year-over-year trend of declining job postings continues in Nipissing District.

481 postings were recorded in September.

Officials say that’s down slightly from the month before, but it was down 110 job postings when compared to September last year.

“It suggests a still-cooling labour market, though the pace of decline may be stabilizing,” states LMG’s September Jobs Report. “This is similar to the trends seen in the Canadian economy as a whole, wherein, according to StatCan the labour market has been in decline since January 2025.”

The North Bay Regional Health Centre was the top employer with 51 job postings.

Health Care and Social Assistance was the top hiring industry with over a quarter of the job postings.
