Know-Something,-Say-Something
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) is looking to identify a suspect involved in a recent theft from a local retailer and reminding the community of the serious harm caused by retail theft.
On October 25, 2025, at approximately 2:06pm, an alleged theft occurred at a retailer in the Algonquin Avenue area. Investigators are releasing the following description, along with a photo and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual:
- Female, approximately 30-40 years old
- 5’4”, thin build
- Hair in a ponytail
- Wearing a dark grey baseball hat, black Reebok coat, and white sneakers.
Retail theft causes tremendous harm to local business and employees, drives up costs for consumers, and undermines our community safety. Each theft, whether large or small, takes a toll.
If a shoplifting incident occurs:
- Do not confront suspects directly if it could put you or staff at risk.
- Call police immediately by dialing 911 if the incident is in progress.
- For non-emergencies, report the theft to NBPS at 705-472-1234.
- Retain photos, video footage, witness statements, and any items the suspect left behind.
- Share a clear description of the suspect(s), items stolen, and the time of the incident.
NBPS continues to actively investigate all reported incidents of retail theft. When suspects are identified, charges are laid, and in some cases, thefts have been linked to organized groups operating in multiple jurisdictions.
“Retail theft significantly affects our local economy, the sense of safety in our community, and the safety of those who are simply trying to do their jobs,” said A/Deputy Chief Warner. “Our members work hard to investigate, identify those responsible, and bring them before the courts. We need the community’s support. If you see something, say something. Together, we can help prevent and reduce theft in our city.”
Anyone with information that may assist in identifying the suspect in this incident or related incidents is asked to contact the NBPS at 705-472-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at nearnorthcrimestoppers.com.
