Luigina "Gina" Silveri

Luigina "Gina" Silveri

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Luigina “Gina” Silveri (née Marini) at Eastholme – Home for the Aged – on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 95.

Gina was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Silveri, and the loving mother of Domenic (Maria), Renzo (Tiziana), and Nando (Barb). She was a cherished nonna to Diana (Cody), Andrea (Dave), David (Raelynn), Mercedes, Nicholas, Anthony (Amanda), and Alex (Olivia), and a proud bisnonna to Easton, Domenic, Owen, and Logan.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Carmela (late Dino) and many nieces and nephews. Gina was predeceased by her parents Nicola and Anna (née Celli) Marini, her siblings Pasquale (Marta surviving), Ida (Antonio), Ada (Aldo surviving), and Antonio (Michelina).

Born in Ofena, Italy, on November 19, 1929, Gina married her beloved Antonio before emigrating to Canada, where they raised their family. She was loving, kind, and caring, and valued her strength, independence and faith. A devoted mamma and nonna, she kept her family at the heart of everything she did. Her family will fondly remember the multi-course dinners, delicious desserts, and fresh produce from her garden.  Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes that she continued when she moved into Empire Retirement Residence.

She enjoyed her time at Empire until her health declined and she moved to Eastholme, where she continued to share her warmth and positivity with everyone around her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Drs. King, Jinnah, and Carter, and to the dedicated staff of Eastholme, North Bay Regional Health Centre, and Empire for their compassionate care.

Gina, mamma, nonna, sister, zia, friend — you are gone but will forever remain in our hearts.

The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home Ltd. (North Bay) on Monday, November 3, 2025, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Name of Jesus Parish (North Bay) at 11:00 a.m., with entombment at All Saints Mausoleum thereafter. If desired, donations to Eastholme-Home for the Aged or the North Bay Regional Health Centre would be gratefully acknowledged by her family in lieu of flowers. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com.
