Marguerite Huard

Marguerite Huard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an angel here on earth, Marguerite Adele Huard (nee Lavigne) who left us on June 17th at the age of 81. She was a cherished member of our family, whose kindness, wisdom, and love touched the lives of everyone she met.

Born on February 14th, 1944, Marguerite grew up in North Bay, later living for many years in Oshawa. She returned to live in Callander and then North Bay upon retirement.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gerry Huard, son Gerry (Topper), granddaughter Maegan, great-granddaughter Miah, and sisters Suzanne LeBoeuf (Ron) and Bernadette Forth (Dale), who will forever cherish her memory. She is predeceased by her son Danny, parents Hector and Azeline (Pigeau) Lavigne, brothers Maurice, Ted and Hector Lavigne and sister Jeannine Sheffield, and sisters-in-law Lindy, Louise and Lynn.

She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She made the effort to follow their lives and keep in touch, always encouraging them and offering her unconditional love and support.

Marguerite was known for her boundless energy, outstanding cooking/ baking and had an infectious smile that could light up any room. She dedicated her life to family and friends and has always been our pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support.

She was a woman of great faith whose spirit will continue to inspire us all and she was incredibly grateful for the kindness and spiritual guidance of Father Daniele throughout her journey. In her honour, we will strive to live with the same kindness and generosity that she showed to us every day.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 5, 2025, at 10:30 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in North Bay. Donations in her memory can be made to Nipissing Serenity Hospice should you wish.

Rest in peace now dear Marguerite and enjoy your joyous reunion with your beloved son Danny. Family gatherings will never be the same without your stories, warmth, laughter, and incredible feasts. Your love, light, and legacy will live on in our hearts forever.

Margaret wished to express her deepest love and gratitude to her beloved husband Gerry, for his unwavering partnership and understanding; to her son Topper, whose love, devotion, and countless acts of care brought comfort to both her and Gerry during this past year; and to her sister Susie, whose constant support, laughter, and love were a true lifeline. Their combined strength, kindness, and presence made an incredibly difficult year bearable, and meant more to her than words could ever express.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to Dr. Jinnah and the exceptionally compassionate and professional staff at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, who went above and beyond to ensure that family and friends had the time and space to share meaningful, cherished moments with Margaret in comfort and peace.

Go rest high on that mountain

Your work on earth is done

Go to heaven a shoutin’

Love for the Father and Son
