Masking required in patient-care areas at NBRHC

By Richard Coffin

If you’re heading to the North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC), you’re required to wear a mask in all patients care areas.

The hospital put the measure in place, as of Monday (Dec. 15) because of the current level of hospitalizations from respiratory viruses and community transmission.

The policy applies to all patients, care partners, visitors, employees, physicians, volunteers and contractors.

Again, masks are required in all areas designated for patient care, including outpatient clinics and waiting areas, and the emergency department.

Officials say masks are optional in hallways, the cafeteria, Tim Hortons and Town Square.

They say visitors who feel unwell are asked to postpone visiting until they feel better.
