More details on provincial funding for Les Compagnons
We’re learning more about provincial funding announced earlier this week for Les Compagnons des francs loisirs.
The Ontario Government is investing $50,000 to help develop a dedicated workspace for Francophone small businesses and organizations of all ages in Nipissing.
“The Francophone Community Grants Program is part of the government’s plan to protect Francophone communities across the province by strengthening their economic, social, and cultural vitality,” says MPP Vic Fedeli. “This investment will help to expand French language services, create economic opportunities, strengthen collaboration, and increase the visibility of Francophonie in Nipissing.”

Yaye Peukassa, Executive Director of Les Compagnons des francs loisirs, says the funding is a much-needed investment.
“An investment that goes beyond our organization—it creates meaningful benefits for the communities we serve,” says Peukassa. “It helps increase opportunities for artistic creation, cultural participation and access to French-language programming, while strengthening the visibility and vitality of the Francophone community across the Nipissing District.”
The local project will include an onboarding component for newcomers, with integration and cultural discovery activities.
