The North Bay Police Service says a 48-year-old city man is facing several charges including drug trafficking after a Street Crime Unit investigation.

Police say a search of a Regina Street residence early Friday morning resulted in more than $32,000 worth of suspected cocaine, fentanyl and hydromorphone being seized.

Brass knuckles, ammunition and over $11,000 in cash was also confiscated.

“Our partnerships with specialized units like the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit are critical to ensuring the safety of our community and our members,” says Insp. Scott McFarlane. “Working together allows us to effectively address criminal activity and remove dangerous offenders, weapons, and drugs from our neighbourhoods.”

The accused was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing.
