MP Rochefort officially opens constituency office

 The Constituency Office for Nipissing-Timiskaming

Member of Parliament Pauline Rochefort will open to serve constituents on Monday, June 2, at 375 Main St. W. in North Bay.

“I look forward to meeting with the residents of Nipissing—Timiskaming in theconstituency office, and engaging with them to hear their concerns and provide any assistance they may need,” said Rochefort.

It was a week of many firsts for MP Rochefort as she attended Northern Ontario, Ontario and National caucus meetings, and participated in the election of the Speaker of the House.

Rochefort found her seat in the House of Commons next to two fellow first-time MPs, one representing Port Moody—Coquitlam and the other Hamilton Centre.

“I spent two weeks in orientation,” said Rochefort. “With a total of 112 new MPs, the focus was on in-person and virtual training, from how to navigate the business of parliament to how to run a constituency office.”

Another highlight for Rochefort was the Throne Speech, delivered by King Charles III.

“There were so many people in the heart of our capital for the visit by the King and Queen. It was impressive to see our Canadian pride in full display on such a perfect picture day with blue skies, warm weather and tulips adding bits of colour,” said Rochefort.

Prime Minister Mark Carney made his first remarks and attended his first question period. The House has been debating the Throne Speech, and MP Rochefort will be commenting on behalf of the citizens of Nipissing—Timiskaming on Monday, June 2.

The North Bay office will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
