New butcher shop open on O’Brien

The 2024 Community Futures Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year award winner is officially opening a new butcher shop in North Bay this weekend.

This is the first retail expansion for Bruce Mines-based Penokean Hills Farms.

Officials say they work with local farmers from across the northeast to deliver top-quality beef and pork to restaurants, butcher shops, and retail customers across Ontario.

Lamb and chicken are also available at their 1120 O’Brien Street location.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is taking place on Saturday morning followed by a free community BBQ from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, while quantities last.

The butcher shop also says customers spending $30 will receive a free pound of frozen ground beef in celebration of their grand opening.
