The local branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) is celebrating Mining Week Nov. 17-21.
Key events include a webinar on cybersecurity defense in mining on Tuesday.
Officials say an expert panel will discuss the growing risks facing modern mining operations and the strategies to secure them.
CIM Northern Gateway is hosting its annual general meeting luncheon with the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce next Wednesday, with a fireside chat on educating the next generation of mining professionals.
The chance for networking continues with a Business After Hours event next Thursday at Andean Drilling.
The city says over 60 Mining Supply & Services businesses call North Bay home, including some multinational headquarters.
