No shortage of local Northern Music and Film award nominations
Nominations for the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards include nearly two dozen locally.
There are 21 nominations for people, projects or groups from North Bay and two from Sturgeon Falls.
Of note, four nominations in the music category involve North Bay’s Peach Pact, or people associated with the band, including Outstanding Album, Engineer, Music Video and Vocal Performance.

The majority of the local nominations are in the Film category, with 15.
Five of the six nominees in the ‘Outstanding Actor – Long Format’ category acted in films shot in North Bay.
Other nominations are in Outstanding Feature Film, Television Series, Screenwriter, and Director, both Long and Short Film.
All told, Cultural Industries Ontario North (CION) is celebrating 70 artists, performances and projects with nominations across 14 categories in music, film and television.
The 2026 Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards ceremony is part of a 3-day industry development and artist showcase conference at Place des Arts in Sudbury, from June 18-20.
