The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that goaltender Matthew Vahramian (Greater Sudbury Cubs); forward Kaeden McArthur (Timmins Rock) and defenceman Marcus Krats (Powassan Voodoos) have been named its Rogers 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending December 7.

Marcus Grats, (D) Powassan Voodoos – Helping power Powassan to back-to-back triumphs to begin play in December, Krats’ efforts has aided in the Voodoos sport the fourth-highest winning percentage in the league at .680.

In all, the 20-year-old Labrador City, N.L., product registered a trio of tallies and chipped in with an assist in victories over French River and Espanola.

An alumnus of the CIH Academy Voyageurs out of Rockland, Ont., Krats has now scored in three straight games and is tied for seventh in NOJHL numbers among defencemen with 18 points on six tallies and a dozen helpers through 23 matchups

Matthew Vahramian, (G) Greater Sudbury Cubs – The 19-year-old who calls Owen Sound, Ont., home, Vahramian, won both of his starts last week helping his side reach the 20-win plateau on the season.

Manning the nets in his minor hockey days out of the Grey-Bruce Highlanders system, the Cubs’ netminder completed the time frame with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .964 save percentage with victories versus the Soo Eagles at home and the Blind River Beavers on the road.

In his last seven league appearances, Vahramian has posted a 1.37 GAA, along with a save mark of .944, while going 5-0-0-1. He also currently paces all NOJHL goalkeepers in average at 2.14 and has jumped to fifth overall with his .919 save mark.

Kaeden McArthur, (F) Timmins Rock – Amassing a league-best seven points in a trio of road outings, McArthur’s efforts helped the Rock take three straight away from home and raise their current victory run to 14 consecutive contests.

Skating for his hometown Timmins side, the 20-year-old scored five times, including a game-winner, as well as collect a career single-game high four markers and dished out a pair of assists as the Rock picked up wins versus at the Soo Eagles; Soo Thunderbirds and Blind River Beavers.

Playing his minor hockey in both Timmins and with Okanagan Hockey Academy Ontario in Whitby, Ont., McArthur has averaged over a point-per-game in his time in the NOJHL with 165 in 144 contests.
