North Bay a finalist in seven Communities in Bloom Outstanding Achievement Award categories

The City of North Bay has been selected as a finalist in seven categories for this year’s Communities in Bloom Outstanding Achievement Awards.
Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay (CGB) says it’s a wonderful recognition of the work taking place and the continued efforts of residents, volunteers, organizations, businesses and the City.
CGB says officials will be in Montreal on Oct. 16, where finalists will learn which communities have received awards.
The seven categories the City is nominated in are:
- Community Appearance, sponsored by Teck
- Environmental Action, sponsored by the Canadian Nursery and Landscape Association
- Heritage Conservation, by Communities in Bloom
- Tree Management, by Communities in Bloom
- Landscape, sponsored by Scotts Turf Builder
- The Butchart Gardens Land Reclamation Award
- WinterLife Award, sponsored by Municipal World
Officials say though it was a non-evaluation year for both CGB and the city, participating communities were encouraged to enter the awards and provide an opportunity to showcase projects, initiatives and achievements across the community.
