North Bay Gears Up for Canada Day 2025 Celebrations

The City of North Bay is set to host a full day of fun at the waterfront on Tuesday, July 1, with a packed lineup of activities planned for Canada Day 2025, including special centennial-themed events.

The day kicks off with the return of the Canada Day 5K Road Race. To register, contact Cosmo at 705-493-0080. The Canada Day Regatta also returns — register by emailing john.simmonds11@outlook.com.

Opening Ceremonies begin at noon at the Kiwanis Bandshell, featuring the singing of O’Canada and a performance by the Legion Pipe & Drum Band, followed by a birthday treat for attendees.

Free admission will be offered at the Dionne Quints Home and the North Bay Museum, which is showcasing its centennial exhibit: North Bay at 100: A People's History. The museum will also feature musical performances by Lynn Blunt, free crafts, and flag displays.

The Canada Day Kids Zone will feature activities, including:

·        1305 Robotics Team – STEM demos and robotics displays

·        Grounded Studios – Muay Thai kickboxing

·        Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre – dress-up station with costumes and backdrop

·        Paint the Bus – help decorate a real bus with Alouette Bus Lines

·        Northeastern Ontario Multicultural Centre – carnival-style games

·        North Bay Astronomy Club – check out telescopes

·        Theater Outreach On-Stage (TOROS) – student performers from Seussical the Musical singing and leading Dr. Seuss-themed activities

·        West Ferris Ringette Association – mini-nets, sticks, and ringette demos

·        Voyageur Aviation – airplane craft

The Centennial Zone (behind the North Bay Museum) will include games, crafts, storyboards, a giant colouring board, and centennial poster contest displays.

Other highlights include interactive reptile shows, a variety of food vendors, and live music all day, leading up to an 8:30 p.m. performance by headliner, The County.

The night ends with a fireworks finale over Lake Nipissing at 10 p.m., presented by Pearson Tree Services. Please note: road closures will be in effect from 8 to 11 p.m.

The Chief Commanda II Fireworks Cruise departs at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 + HST for adults and $27 + HST for kids under 12. To book, call 705-494-8167.
