North Bay Man Charged with Fraud
The James Bay OPP, with assistance from the OPP NER Crime Unit, has arrested and charged one individual following a significant fraud and theft investigation involving an industrial operation located northeast of Cochrane.
An internal audit revealed that over approximately 2.5 to 3 years, large quantities of building materials, tools, and electrical and plumbing equipment were fraudulently obtained and shipped offsite, totaling an estimated $500,000.
On February 17, 2026, police arrested and charged a 38-year-old from North Bay with:
• Fraud Over $5,000 – four counts
• Theft Over $5,000 – four counts
The investigation is ongoing.
