North Bay Police - 10 Arrested

North Bay Police Service and CISO Investigation Results in Arrest of Ten

An investigation by the North Bay Police Service supported by the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO) resulted in the arrest of ten individuals and the seizure of over $92,000-worth of illegal drugs. Two accused persons remain wanted by police.

The accused in this incident are:

• Desiree BOMBERRY, female, age 39, of Callander, Ontario, who is charged with:
  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
• Ashley DUFRESNE, female, age 42, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Produce a Schedule I Substance

• Christopher DURST, male, age 54, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • One count of Produce a Schedule I Substance
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
• Zoe GATES-HEALEY, female, age 26, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  • One count of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• Kevin GRIGSBY-SQUIRES, male, age 52, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • One count of Produce Schedule I Substance
• Jeffrey SUNSTRUM, male, age 35, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  • One count of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• Gilles THIBEAULT, male, age 56, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• A 50-year-old male from North Bay, who is charged with:
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance
  • Eight counts of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • Eight counts of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• A 32-year-old female from North Bay, who is charged with:
  • Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance
• A 25-year-old female from North Bay, who is charged with:
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance

Two accused individuals remain outstanding and are wanted by police:

• Kaleigh DUFRESNE , female, age 31, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  
  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for purpose of Trafficking
• One count of Produce a Schedule I Substance
• Kirsten WALKER , female, age 33, of North Bay, who is charged with:
  
  • Two counts of Traffic in Schedule I substance
• One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

In 2024, the North Bay Police Service began an undercover investigation into drug trafficking. As a result of that investigation, ten individuals were arrested and charged between January 30 and February 4, 2025. Two accused persons remain wanted by police.

The investigations resulted in the seizure of:

• Approximately 7 grams of suspected crack cocaine
• Approximately 17 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
• Approximately 597 grams of suspected cocaine
• Approximately 116 grams of suspected fentanyl
• Approximately 8 grams of suspected methamphetamine pills
• Approximately 113 suspected hydromorphone pills
• Approximately $13,300 in Canadian currency
• Drug trafficking equipment

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $92,000.
