As the days get longer and the sun shines brighter, Tourism North Bay is ready to help you take advantage of these warm days, seasonal activities and delicious food this summer! We're excited to announce the relaunch of the Pop Up Picnic series, inviting you to grab your blanket, select a specially curated picnic meal, and enjoy the flavors of North Bay in the best way possible—outdoors!
Building on the success of the previous season, this year’s Pop Up Picnic offerings will run from Wednesday, July 2nd until Sunday, August 31st, 2025. Visitors and residents alike can:
- Order a specially curated picnic from one of our six, local food partners, each serving up summer-perfect dishes.
- Choose a beautiful picnic spot around the city and bask in the beauty of North Bay’s waterfront, parks, and green spaces.
- Share your picnic moments with us on social media using #TasteTheBay and #DiscoverNorthBay

Where to Savor the Season’s Best Bites
This year’s participating Pop Up Picnic restaurants have come together to offer fresh, creative dishes made for sharing under the summer sun. Here’s a taste of what’s waiting for you:
· Amritsari Bites (1260 Algonquin Ave)
Enjoy Indian street food delicacies, from spiced samosas to flavorful curries and sweet gulab jamuns, all packed into picnic-perfect portions.
· Blendz Smoothie & Juice Bar (319 Algonquin Ave)
A perfect summer picnic for two, refresh with a healthy smoothie, a Californian sushi bowl and an ice-cream sandwich. All gluten and dairy free and vegan friendly.
· Cecil’s Brewhouse + Kitchen (300 Wyld St)
A delicious chicken caesar wrap with cookies and drinks for a relaxed day in the sun.
· Green Fox Kitchen (17 Mapleridge Dr)
Looking for an all plant-based option then Green Fox Kitchen is offering a picnic option for 2 or 4 and it will update weekly.
· Opera Bakery + Café (164 Main St W)
Delicious lunch options for 2 or 4, including gourmet sandwiches and homemade desserts. Because picnics should always include a little sweetness!
· Tahini’s (1720 Algonquin Ave)
Savor Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors with two regular shawarma’s and two bowls of regular fries for your picnic pleasure.
Perfect Picnic Spots in North Bay
From waterfront views to serene park benches, these picnic locations are the best places to soak up summer:
- Kiwanis Bandshell for live music every Tuesday and Wednesday evening with a side of sunshine
- Sunset and Champlain Park for evening picnics as the sky turns golden with playgrounds for the kids
- Goulet Golden Mile to keep it close to Downtown amenities with waterfront views
- Birchaven Cove for quiet, lakeside reflection and relaxation
