Ontario Supporting Music Industry in Nipissing
The Ontario government is investing $20,000 through the Ontario Creates Ontario Music Investment Fund (OMIF): Live Music stream for the Capitol Centre. This investment will help to deliver and promote more local live music events such as festivals and concerts, including North Bay’s Bay Block Party taking place this August.
“Our government recognizes the important role the music industry plays in fostering dynamic and thriving communities across Ontario,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “This support will help the Capitol Centre continue to create more opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their talent, strengthening our local economy and drawing more visitors to Nipissing.”

“Bay Block Party remains a signature highlight of the summer season, and we are thrilled to see it expand into a two‑day festival on August 21 and 22. With support from the Ontario Music Investment Fund, this year’s event will feature additional programming throughout the downtown on Friday evening, complementing the outstanding local talent showcased across two stages on Saturday. The festival continues to be free and open to all, and we look forward to welcoming the community for an unforgettable weekend of music and celebration.” - Katina Connolly, Executive Director of the Capitol Centre.
The OMIF: Live Music stream is designed to support businesses and organizations that produce or promote live music events featuring Canadian artists.
Through the OMIF and other programs, our government is protecting Ontario by supporting workers, businesses, communities and jobs in the face of ongoing economic uncertainty. These investments keep Ontario moving forward, while building a strong foundation for resilient and competitive future.
