Ontario Provincial Police confirm officers were requested in advance by event organizers to attend a meeting held at Cassellholme on Dec. 11.
The OPP says they were there solely to maintain order and support the organizers’ request for a peaceful environment.
Two OPP officers were assigned to the call with an OPP supervisor and an additional officer briefly attending to check on the assigned members.
Provincial police say members of the North Bay Police Service were also present to assist.
“At the request of the organizers, three individuals who were already inside the auditorium were asked to leave,” states a release. “Officers spoke with them, and they complied without incident, remaining outside the meeting area.”
The OPP says there were no disturbances or enforcement actions required during the event.
