Powassan Voodoos name Rousseau Captain

Verner’s Justin Rousseau has been named the Powassan Voodoos 10th captain in franchise history.
The 20-year-old has experience wearing the ‘C’.
He was the captain of the U18 North Bay Trappers that won the Great North League championship in 2022-23.
Rousseau was also the league’s MVP that season.
“Being named captain is something that I don’t take for granted,” he says. “Having the opportunity to represent the Voodoos and the community of Powassan is a privilege.”
Rousseau says since becoming a Voodoo a few seasons ago, their goal has been to win a championship.
“This season, we have another chance to contend for a title and I am proud to lead this team in that direction,” he says.
Peter Goulet, Voodoos head coach, recognized Rousseau’s leadership qualities as he named the third-year forward an alternate captain last year.
“Justin has been a warrior for our team. He has been one of our best face off men and has also scored some big goals for us over the past two seasons,” says Goulet. “He’s always one of the first players to help out and one of the first guys to clean the room. He totally leads by example and we are excited to announce him as our team captain for the 2025-26 season.”
This past season Rousseau scored 12 goals and 30 assists in 49 games.
