Public info session on Trout Lake Road reconstruction set for Tuesday
You can learn more about the upcoming reconstruction of Trout Lake Road and the Laurentian Avenue intersection on Tuesday.
A public information centre is being held from 4-6 pm, in the lobby of city hall.
The project includes the reconstruction of Trout Lake Road from Highway 11/17 to Kingsway Avenue, the conversion of the Laurentian Avenue intersection to a roundabout, and the addition of a multi-use path.

“The project was identified through the City’s Road Safety Strategy as a priority for improvements to traffic operations and pedestrian, cyclist, and driver safety,” states a release. “The session will provide project updates, construction timelines, anticipated traffic impacts, and roundabout education for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.”
The city says the project is supported by funding from the provincial and federal governments through the Connecting Links Program and the Canada Community-Building Fund.
Construction is expected to begin this month and be completed this construction season.
Traffic delays are expected, as Trout Lake Road will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.
There may also be temporary side-street closures, provided alternate access is maintained.
