Ravens senior football campaign reaches midfield

By Richard Coffin

It’s a first down for efforts aimed at bringing back senior football at Chippewa Secondary School (CSS).

Officials say the Ravens Flight 2026 campaign is halfway to its fundraising goal, having raised nearly $30,000.

A fundraising concert has also been lined up by Jamie Carruthers, teacher at CSS and founder of East Coaster Studios.

Adam Baldwin, Nova Scotia singer/songwriter, will be performing in the Chippewa Auditorium on Monday, Jan. 26.

He’s currently touring with Blue Rodeo.

“With a short break in [Adam’s] schedule, Jamie was able to arrange for him to come north in support of our fundraiser, which we are incredibly grateful for,” says Ian Martyn, Physical Education Teacher at Chippewa.

All proceeds from the concert will go directly toward the Ravens Flight campaign.

Tickets can be purchased online.

They’re $40 in advance or $50 at the door.

Officials are looking to revive the senior football program after a nearly ten-year absence.

Funds raised will be used to purchase new equipment and uniforms for the team.
