Red Delivery Service Alert from Canada Post

Red Delivery Service Alert from Canada Post

By Richard Coffin

Canada Post has issued a ‘Red Delivery Service Alert’ for parts of Ontario, including the North Bay area, because of freezing rain.

This as a winter storm warning continues in the North Bay area.

Officials with the Crown Corporation say delivery has been suspended for the day, and agents will not be sent out.

Our area’s joining Sudbury, Renfrew, Petawawa and Pembroke in the alert.
Canada Post says both delivery and pick up will resume once conditions improve.

With the weather, Environment Canada says we can expect a wintry mix of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain through Wednesday night.

The weather agency says 10 to 15 cm of snow and ice pellet amounts are possible along with several hours of freezing rain and ice pellets.

Ice build-up of up to 4 mm is possible.
