Removed Cassellholme board members want back in
Two city councillors are looking at options to get back on the Board of Cassellholme.
This after Mark King and Chris Mayne were voted off last week.
King says there’s been concerning behaviour from the board over the past couple of months, saying there’s been bullying, intimidation and even police removing the two from a meeting he says they had the right to attend.
He says they were illegitimately removed by the board for asking questions about legal fees.
“The existing board at Cassellholme never followed the bylaws that they should have followed with respect to the removal of board members,” says King. “Under the Long-term Care Act there’s a process that has to take place.”
Mayne says it’s frustrating and disappointing they were voted off for not supporting the direction of taking over or challenging the Castle Arms Board.
“The next step for myself and Mark is to try and see if there’s an opportunity for us to be returned to the Cassellholme board by North Bay Council, because that’s who put us there in the first place,” he says.
In a statement last week, Board Chair Dave Mendicino said the board declared the two seats vacant as they have lost confidence in the two members.
