SANTAROSSA, Gioacchino "Jack"

SANTAROSSA, Gioacchino "Jack"

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gioacchino “Jack” Santarossa on July 5th, 2025, in North Bay, Ontario. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend to many, Jack leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, laughter, and deep-rooted love for his family and community.

Born in Palse di Porcia in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy, Jack immigrated to Canada in the 1950s in search of a better life. He settled in North Bay, Ontario, where he would build not just a home, but a reputation as a respected tradesman and community pillar. Through his company, Santarossa Construction, Jack crafted beautiful, lasting work that stood as a testament to his dedication and pride in his craft.

Jack was one of 13 siblings, and the importance of family never left him. He was the beloved husband of Florence Santarossa, devoted father to John, Gary (Manola), and Robert, and adoring nonno to Chino and Carlo. Jack gave everything he had for his family—his time, his energy, and his endless love.

A man of many passions, Jack found joy in Italian music, home-cooked meals, and the vibrant garden he lovingly tended each year. He had a deep love for sports—particularly soccer—and was a lifelong Inter Milan supporter. Whether it was cycling, Formula 1, or hockey, Jack cheered with a heart full of passion and pride.

He was well known in North Bay’s Italian community as a man with a big heart and an even bigger smile. Jack had a gift for storytelling and an endless supply of jokes that could light up a room. His warmth, generosity, and humor made him a symbol of strength, kindness, and joy to everyone who knew him.

Jack's presence in our lives was a blessing. His legacy will live on in the values he instilled, the love he shared, and the laughter he inspired. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. As per Jack’s wishes, a private family service and burial will occur at a later date. The family would like to extend a Special Thank you for the excellent care of all the Staff at Casselholme. If desired, donations to a charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged by his family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com

Ciao, Jack. Grazie di tutto.
