School buses cancelled today (Friday, Dec. 19) with flash freeze warning in effect

A flash freeze warning is in effect for the North Bay area, and it’s impacting school buses.

Nipissing-Parry Sound Student Transportation Services advises all school buses across all weather corridors are cancelled today (Friday, Dec. 19).  Schools remain open.

Environment Canada says the rain will change over to snow Friday morning followed by a rapid drop in temperatures to well below the freezing mark.

The weather agency says ponding water, slush, and any falling precipitation will freeze as the temperature drops.

Wind gusts of 50-60 km/h are also expected.
