Second suspect arrested in recent bank break-in
City police say community support was instrumental in their investigation with a recent break and enter at a Lakeshore Drive bank.
This after a second suspect was arrested last Tuesday.
“The community’s support in this investigation was instrumental,” says Insp. Scott McFarlane with the North Bay Police Service. “Keeping our city safe is a shared responsibility, and it’s through the vigilance and cooperation of residents that we are able to quickly identify and hold those responsible accountable.”
The 32-year-old man is charged with break and enter, possession of a controlled substance and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Meantime, two city men, ages 32 and 37, are facing several charges including robbery with violence.
City police say around 6 am on March 12 two people entered a residence on the 300 block of Main Street East, with the occupant, who is known to the suspects, threatened.
Suspected drugs worth an estimated $1,200 were also stolen.
One of the men was arrested last Wednesday with the other taken into custody the next day.
Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
